WSI's Weather-in-the-Cockpit Storms Ahead
Weather Services International (Booth 1568), the world's leading provider of
real-time weather data and imagery, has announced a series of new
partnership agreements for its inflight weather information systems.
WSI has developed a host of essential pilot briefing and weather
data systems, including:
- Pilotbrief, consistently voted the No. 1 weather service by
professional pilots. Pilotbrief is used by over 800 FBOs, over
1,200 corporate flight departments and over 95% of FAA Flight
Service Stations.
- Pilotbrief Online now provides the same critical weather
data, from graphics to text, on any computer over the Internet.
International coverage is provided by Pilotbrief International
Online, and the online system also has access to exclusive NOWrad
mosaic radar imagery.
- InFlight delivers graphical and textual weather information
directly to the cockpit, in the air. Co-developed with NASA, InFlight
can provide complete coverage and content for the continental
United States.
WSI's weather-in-the-cockpit systems have now been picked up by
three new key users:
- UPS Aviation technologies will integrate the InFlight system
in its MX20 multi-function display, with the commercial release
of FAA certified systems in early 2003.
- Rockwell Collins has selected InFlight for use with its ProLine
21 avionics systems.
- Northstar Technologies will combine the InFlight system with
its portable CT-1000 series of flight deck organizers to meet
its growing electronic flight bag customer base.
