Air Routing International Brings Chinese Expertise to NBAA

Air Routing International is hosting a multi-business aviation delegation from the People's Republic of China at NBAA this year, based at its Booth 2541 in the exhibition hall. The Chinese group includes representatives from Shanghai Airlines, Capital Jet in Beijing and China Eastern Airlines-all here to meet industry professionals and to promote their aviation services.

Several significant changes have taken place in the Chinese aviation regulatory world recently, and Air Routing International and its guests are keen to draw attention to them. Points of interest include:

  • From August 1, applicants for Chinese landing permits no longer need to first apply at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing. All business aircraft should now contact China Civil Air directly for landing permissions.
  • From October 28, Shanghai Hongqiao/ZSSS will be closed for all international flights, and operators will have to use the Shanghai Pudong International Airport instead.

There has been a general increase in interest throughout the Chinese aviation market in working with Western companies. Most airlines and aviation companies, outside the sensitive defense and security field, are now very open to foreign investment and cooperation. Air Routing International has been a leader in the development of business aviation within China over the past 10 years, and currently provides flight support services at over 40 airports around the country.
