 MAINTENANCE

Honeywell Service Centers Will be STAAR Performers

Operators of Honeywell engines will be asked to rate the service they receive at any one of the company's 130 authorized business aircraft and regional airliner support centers under a new system announced on the eve of the convention. STAAR, the Service Target Authorization Approval Rating, establishes 13 key performance standards that centers must meet to participate in the Honeywell authorized network, introducing a higher set of expectations that must be met.

Half the rating will be based on customer feedback. Centers will be able to obtain additional points by providing special maintenance options, such as acoustic survey capability and electronic logbooks. Quarterly rating begins immediately, with first results to be published in January 2003.
