 AVIONICS

Pro Line 21 to CJ3

The third time's the charm for Rockwell Collins, whose Pro Line 21 avionics system is standard equipment on Cessna's Citation CJ1, CJ2 and now the newly announced CJ3.

Cessna Citation CJ3 program manager Russ Meyer III singles out the Pro Line 21's "advanced functionality . . . to meet changing operational requirements" as a key appeal of the system.

The CJ3 will also feature Rockwell Collins' new file server unit (FSU), which supplies the cockpit with enhanced maps, optional electronic charts and graphical weather when integrated with Ethernet interfaces and liquid crystal displays. The CJ3 is the launch aircraft for the FSU.

Other features of the Pro Line 21 system: Collins FNS-3000 Flight Management System, AHS-3000 Attitude Heading Reference System, WXR-800 weather radar, ADS-3000 Air Data System, and Pro Line 21 CNS communication, navigation and surveillance sensors.

CJ3 deliveries are slated to begin in late 2004.
