Global Blabbermouths Welcome at Arnav

Arnav Systems (Booth 5843) is launching its RCOM-1000 SatPhone satellite telephone system, based on the Globalstar satellite network. The system ships in November, and the first 100 customers will get up to 60 minutes of free monthly airtime.

Priced at just under $20,000, the RCOM-1000 is a full-digital system. Arnav claims that it can deliver high-quality voice communications and 9,600 bps data connections throughout its coverage area, which includes the Americas, Europe, northern Asia and Australia/New Zealand. Service plans start at $100 per month.

Options include a dialer/adapter for the control panel, a retractor-reel handset similar to airline inflight phones, and a 2.4 GHz cordless handset. Arnav also offers services such as WxLink Weather Services, a worldwide text and graphical aviation weather reporting system that can present weather maps on cockpit or cabin displays.
