Eurocopter Chile SA Opens

Eurocopter now has 80 helicopters operating in Chile, making it the third largest Eurocopter fleet in Latin America after Brazil and Mexico.

"Chile is an essential platform for the coordination of Eurocopter's commercial activities in South America," the company says.

Eurocopter this week announced the opening of Eurocopter Chile SA at the Eulogio Sánchez Airport in the heart of Santiago, which is also the base of one its most important customers, the "Carabinieros de Chile." The Chilean company is responsible for the coordination of commercial activities for both new and previously-owned helicopters, and for spare parts and tooling. It will also ensure services outside of Chile for neighboring countries such as Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, and Uruguay.

The impact of this new initiative has already been felt, Eurocopter says: two new civil customers recently acquired helicopters for corporate use after the opening of the new center convinced them they would receive quality on-site customer support service.
