nine passengers. It will be priced below $2 million. |
Viewing Latin America as a promising market for its helicopters,
Kazan Helicopter (KVZ) is here promoting its new Ansat light twin
in Hall C, Stand 22.
KVZ hopes to sell up to 700 Ansat-family helicopters in the next
10 years, director general Alexander Lavrentiev told Show News.
The Ansat is expected to finish flight tests this year, and production
will begin in 2003. The price will be the lowest in its class at
under $2 million, Lavrentiev said.
KVZ has ordered 20 PWC207K engines for the first 10 helicopters.
Firm sales at 12 helicopters, including one from a foreign company,
and the Russian Ministry of Defense is expected to buy 100 through
2015, he said.
