Lockheed: Eyes for F-16s?

Missiles and the means to make them hit their target are the focus of Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control in Hall G, Booth 1-2.

The company, which began focusing on Latin America four years ago, is featuring three systems here at FIDAE--PANTERA, Hellfire and Chaparral.

The brand new, lightweight PANTERA (Precision Attack Navigation and Targeting with Extended Range Acquisition) pod is a candidate to give Chile's F-16s a precision strike capability by day and night, and in adverse weather.

The Hellfire anti-armor and anti-shipping missile is being promoted in both helicopter and land-launched versions; and Chaparral, upgraded from surplus U.S. stocks, is an ideal lightweight air defense missile for land forces in the region, the company believes.
