Geneva's Bizjet Barons
Share New PrivatAir Terminal

Geneva International's new Terminal C3 is dedicated to business jet operations.

PrivatAir, TAG and Jet Aviation have all relocated to a new $7.5 million private aviation terminal here at Geneva that represents a massive upgrade to the airport's corporate aviation facilities.

Geneva International Airport and PrivatAir developed the terminal as a joint venture, and opened it on March 4. Located to the west of Geneva's main passenger terminal, the 4,600 sq. metre building is expected to handle 60,000 passengers a year.

"There has been a need for some time now for a private terminal that meets the high standards of private air travel," said PrivatAir CEO Dave Hurley. "The old terminal facilities were in great need of being upgraded. With this new building, we can ensure that our customers avoid crowded main terminals and maximize their time before flying for work, entertainment or relaxation. It also illustrates our firm commitment to Geneva Airport and to the region's business aviation sector."

The brand new building provides top of the range lounge facilities and easy access to aircraft through smooth customs and immigration clearance. It was designed by Aris Serbetis, architect for PrivatAir's parent company the Latsis Group, and by Geneva-based architect Dominique Grenier.

The terminal accommodates PrivatAir's European headquarters, 500 sq. meters has been acquired by the Geneva Airport for its Swiss and French Customs and Immigration services, and 2,130 sq. meters of offices has been leased to leased to business jet operators TAG and Jet Aviation. The latter also operates an FBO in the terminal.
Private aviation at Geneva International Airport accounts for about 50,000 aircraft movements a year.

PrivatAir operates a fleet of Boeing 737 and one 757 aircraft for the business aviation industry and is currently the only commercial operator of three BBJs, one of which has just been wet-leased to Lufthansa for a new all-business class service between Dusseldorf, Germany, and Newark/New York.
