BBA Has Major Announcements at EBACE
 |
| BBA CEO Roy McGlone sees acquisitions. |
The BBA Group plans two major announcements at a press conference
here on Wednesday. They are believed to involve another major acquisition,
and big expansion plans for Signature's London Luton Airport operation.
Roy McGlone, the CEO of BBA, has said regularly that he is looking
for more bolt-on company acquisitions, which would further strengthen
his company's global position as the leading player in corporate
aviation flight support
Jonathan Soper, managing director Europe for Signature Flight
Support and Charter Management, wouldn't be drawn on the pending
announcements. But pointing to the past as an indicator of the future,
he noted the biggest success story in Signature Flight Support Europe
last year was its Le Bourget FBO operation, which recorded a 29%
growth in revenues.
"We have now purchased the final 25% of the FBO from our
ex-partners, Air Luxor, so the business is a wholly owned Signature
facility," said Soper. "It has seen a massive turnaround
and is doing extremely well." The facility's 25,000 sq. ft.
hangar has had a new floor, and the FBO's office and reception area
refurbished, and a more private VIP lounge added.

in revenues in its second billion dollar-plus year.

Flight Support FBOs in the U.S., Europe and Asia. It also
owns the Dallas Airmotive aero engine overhaul business.
