Jeppesen at EBACE
Jeppesen brings to EBACE 2002 a complete portfolio of its products
and services for business aviation, with particular focus on its
three newest offerings:
JetPlan.com is a user interface for the industry-leading JetPlan
flight planning engine. It is browser-based, allowing users with
access to any internet connection using Internet Explorer version
5.0 or higher to create flight plans, check weather, NOTAMs and
routing constraints, then transmit them using SITA, AFTN, FAX
or e-mail.
"Wherever you have access to the internet, whether a hotel
room, an FBO or an aircraft itself, you can get access to JetPlan.com"
said Derek Towns, Jeppesen's product manager, flight planning.
"No more difficult and unreliable dial-up sessions, especially
in out-of-the-way places."
JetPlanner, announced on May 1, is the newest MS Windows-based
user interface for JetPlan, making it easier, more accessible
and more cost-effective, claims Jeppesen. "JetPlanner takes
flight planning with JetPlan a step further," said Towns.
"It comes packed with high resolution graphical tools and
makes use of inexpensive TCP/IP communications technology to make
flight planning easier to use and even more cost effective."
In creating JetPlanner, Jeppesen has taken JetPlan's capabilities-which
include real-time weather, routing and airspace information; ETOPS,
drift-down and optimal scenario analysis functionality; variable
cost indexing, fuel-tankering/in-flight refueling calculations;
re-clear/re-release capability; and the ability to run flight
plans on a pre-selected time-trigger basis, and combined them
with an easy-to-use graphical user interface. It includes a "rubberband
routing" function, which gives users the ability to graphically
plot and manipulate planned routings.
Last, and latest, of the new products Jeppesen is showcasing at
EBACE is EasyBrief, an internet-based crew self-briefing module
which allows JetPlan users to access preflight briefing packages
anywhere they have access to the internet or a company LAN/WAN.
EasyBrief saves users money by eliminating SITA and ARINC forwarding
charges. In addition, it can automatically deliver confirmation
when crews retrieve briefing packages.
Jeppesen is at Booth 7474 in the exhibition hall.
