Agusta's 'Elite' Redefines Luxury

This 'Elite' Agusta A109 Power on show here at EBACE is the height of luxury.

Taking Italian elegance just that little bit further, AgustaWestland decided to go one better than outfitting the A109Power light twin for VIPs with its five passenger 'Elite' VVIP version.

"We introduced it to redefine the concept of satisfaction," said a company spokesman.

The 'Elite' boasts a plush interior and extra soundproofing.

Agusta claims the A109Power was the best selling light twin last year, and is on track to repeat that performance in 2002. Orders now stand at more than 260 of all versions, ranging in price for commercial models from $3.2 to $3.5 million. It is available with a choice of Pratt & Whitney Canada PW206C or Turbomeca Arrius 2K1 engines.

The A109 Power is single pilot IFR certified and can take off in Category "A" from elevated helipads without any payload reduction. In addition, the noise level is below the limit set by ICAO (Annex 16) regulations.

AgustaWestland is here at Booth 7496.
