Twinjet Wins Challenger Ops Contract

London-Luton-based Twinjet Aircraft has been awarded a Challenger 604 operating contract by major UK transport and leisure group P&O. The Challenger, which is available for charter when not required by P&O, has been converted from a Private category certificate of airworthiness and added to Twinjet's JAR-OPS 1 Air Operator's Certificate for Public Transport operation. Metro Business Aviation will provide engineering and maintenance support, operations management and passenger handling at its Luton FBO.

The Challenger's cabin is outfitted for nine passengers, six in club seats and three on an inboard-facing divan. In-flight entertainment includes a DVD player, Airshow 400 passenger information system, telephone and fax facilities with MagnaStar C-750 and PC interface. An Ultra Electronics active noise and vibration control (ANVC) system has been installed to further enhance comfort. There is a fully equipped galley for preparation of hot and cold menus, and cabin attendant service is provided on every trip. With a range of 3,750-nmi the Challenger is capable of flying non-stop London-Chicago, London-Riyadh and Dubai-London.
