Rockwell Collins Wins on International 737NG Fleets

China Shandong Airlines and Australia's Qantas Airways have both selected Rockwell Collins avionics and systems for their new Boeing 737NGs.

For Shandong's10 new 737s, Rockwell Collins will supply the aircraft's integrated flight deck avionics systems and the PAVES in-flight entertainment system. The flight-deck systems fit includes the WXR-2100 Multiscan Weather Radar and TCAS-900 traffic alert and collision avoidance system. The PAVES system will be similar to that already fitted to Shandong's CRJ-200 regional jets. It features a 10.4-in LCD retractable monitor, which is the largest single-aisle LCD offered on the market today.

Qantas Airways has selected a full suite of Rockwell Collins avionics for its new 737NG fleet. Deliveries of the first 15 aircraft will begin later this year, and Qantas holds an additional 60 options. Like the Shandong aircraft, the Qantas 737s will be fitted with the WXR-2100 radar.
