SNECMA Reveals 2001 Results
France's SNECMA group, producer and in-service supporter of
aircraft engines and landing gears, announced its 2001 annual
results in Paris earlier this week. Consolidated sales totalled
6,893 million euros, representing an increase of 6.5 per cent.
Operating profit went up 12.5 per cent, giving a return on sales
of 10.4 per cent (up from 9.9 per cent in 2000).
However, the company has issued a warning for 2002, during the
course of which it predicts a 10 per cent drop in sales revenue
(and in employment) and a one-to-two per cent falloff in profits.
Cost-cutting measures have been put in place to minimize the effects
of downturn.
