Ameco Beijing Moves Into 2002 With New Management

Ameco Beijing, the MRO joint venture established by Air China and Lufthansa AG, is moving confidently forward into 2002-the two partners are already discussing an extension of the JV some three years before the current agreement is due to expire.

At the end of 2001 Ameco reorganized its senior management with He Li appointed as general manager and CEO. At the same time, his counterpart Walter Heerdt also adopted a GM position, and continues to lead Ameco services development. Several other changes were also made in the top management of Ameco, including the appointment of Zheng Yan, who succeeds He Li as executive director support/marketing division. Ameco has also gained two new executive directors for engine components and facilities: Marek Wernicke and his Chinese counterpart Li Jianjun.
