Honeywell Adds A380 Systems

Honeywell has been selected by Airbus Industrie to supply two essential vehicle systems for the A380 'Super Jumbo.' Honeywell will provide the giant airliner's secondary electric power distribution system and its aircraft environment surveillance system, an integrated on-board safety and monitoring system. Honeywell estimates that the revenue from these two A380 contracts alone could reach $710 million over a 15-year period (including follow-on spares and support). The award of these contracts brings the number of Honeywell-sourced systems on the A380 up to five. Honeywell already supplies the aircraft's next-generation flight management system, the electro-mechanical thrust reverser actuation system (in partnership with Snecma control systems) and pneumatics for the aircraft's Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engines.
