Singapore Springboard for Embraer's Super Tucano
Embraer has taken advantage of Asian Aerospace's position as the
first major aviation event of the year to launch the Super Tucano
advanced turboprop on the world market. Fresh from a final production
order with the Brazilian air force-signed on 21 December for 76
aircraft, and 23 options-Embraer is now able to offer the Super
Tucano worldwide.
The launch export order, 10 aircraft for the Dominican Republic,
has already been signed-and Embraer sees the Asia-Pacific region
and Latin America as two key markets.
The first Brazilian Super Tucanos (known in service as the ALX)
will be delivered in December 2003, along with the first export
examples. Embraer can build six Super Tucanos per month at its
new purpose-built production facility.
