1,000th Boeing 757 to American

Boeing and American Airlines feted delivery of the one-housandth 757 single-aisle airliner this month. American has the largest fleet of Boeing 757s, the latest aircraft being its 148th. The airline employs Rolls-Royce RB211-535 engines on its 757-200s and has contributed 5.7 million of the total of 28 million flying hours on the mill. Other thousand-plus Boeings have been the 707, 727, 737 and 747.
