Second Airbus A340-600 Makes First Flight
With the first Airbus A340-600 conducting flight displays at Le Bourget
this week, Airbus chairman Noël Forgeard announced that the second
edition of the stretched, re-engined widebody made its first flight
Monday morning. The A340-600, which replaces the CFM56 engines on
the original A340s with Rolls-Royce Trent 500 powerplants, is slated
for certification by year-end. |
