The World of the JSF
The JSF is to be a single-seat, supersonic aircraft, incorporating
stealth technology and capable of performing multi-role operations
from aircraft carriers and land. As many as 3,000 will be built
for the U.S. and UK.
A downselect in the JSF competition is scheduled for later this
year in the October timeframe. Dozens of contractors are vying
for business potentially worth billions of dollars. The following
is a rundown of the individual members of the Boeing JSF and Lockheed
Martin JSF teams.
