IAI and Aerosky To Cooperate on Small UAV Development

Israel Aircraft Industries and Aeronautics Unmanned Systems have announced the formation of a seven-year strategic cooperation agreement to market the Aerosky close range UAV system. Under the agreement, IAI has an option to acquire 25% of Aeronautics Unmanned Systems.

The small Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) is on display at the IAI/MALAT exhibit. Aerosky is a lightweight tactical UAV (70 kg take-off weight) capable of operating at a range of 100 km sustaining a five-hour mission. Maximum operational altitude is 15,000 feet. It carries a 18-kg payload. Aeronautics have developed several lightweight UAVs including Aerolight, Aerosky and Aerostar as well as a lightweight avionics system for installation in small UAVs called Unmanned Multiple Application System (UMAS).
