Raytheon, Thales Radar Joint Venture Gets Nod

Raytheon and Thales have received regulatory approval to establish a joint venture closely linking their air defense operations, making it the largest company in this business.

Executives from both companies will announce here today that the creation of Thales-Raytheon Systems will move forward. The JV will be headquartered with a presence in Fullerton and El Segundo, California.

Long-time competitors, the two radar and military electronics powerhouses will cooperatively develop and market air defense technologies. The arrangement is expected to grow over time.
