Lockheed Martin Wins FAA Oceanic Air Control
Contract
Lockheed Martin has won a new $200 million FAA contract for an
air traffic control system. Under the contract agreement, Lockheed
Martin will upgrade the Oceanic Air Traffic Control System currently
in operation in Oakland, California, and within two years will
implement similar enhancements to the Oceanic Systems in New York,
and Anchorage, Alaska.
Further enhancements and maintenance could increase the value
of the contract over the entire life cycle of the 10-year program.
Lockheed Martin is planning to export similar systems to other
countries operating oceanic monitoring systems, such as the UK
and Russia.
