Honeywell Wins Continental Maintenance Deal

Honeywell will provide maintenance, repair and overhaul services for company-made accessories on Continental Airlines Boeing 737, 757, 767, 777 and MD-80 aircraft under an eight-year deal valued at up to $200 million.

The maintenance service agreement will cover environmental control and cabin-pressure systems, aircraft lighting, main engine start systems, and fuel controls. The deal follows earlier agreements with Continental to maintain the airline's avionics, wheels and brakes and APUs. Work will take place at Honeywell's global network of repair facilities.

"Honeywell will provide reliability enhancements, product improvement and assistance with line-maintenance practices in order to optimize on-wing life of their Honeywell products," says Jim Taiclet, president of Honeywell Aerospace Services.
