EADS Is Number One for Orders Value, Will Show
20% Growth in 2001
The joint CEOs of EADS, Phillippe Camus and Rainer Hertrich, have
positioned their company as the world's No. 1 aerospace entity
in terms of order book value. EADS's currently has a six-year
production backlog and an orderbook valued at ¤170 Billion.
The company will continue to grow in terms of size, value and scope.
EADS will meet its 2001 target of 20%, with a continuing annual
target of 10% thereafter. According to Camus, EADS is currently
the world's number three aerospace company overall,-after Lockheed
Martin and Boeing-but by the end of 2001 it will be number two.
Camus described EADS as "a global company that will develop
global partnerships. We are pushing for European consolidation,
but we will also enhance our transatlantic co-operation. We see
a very great potential for transatlantic links."
Camus identified the MEADS and Meteor missile programs as examples
of existing ties with the United States. He also underlined the
importance of EADS's co-operation with Northrop Grumman on reconnaissance
technology and UAV development. When asked about the "Euro
Hawk" high-altitude long-endurance UAV, Rainer Hertrich said
he hoped that it could eventually become "NATO Hawk,"
thanks to the involvement of Northrop Grumman.
