EADS Tests Helo System
EADS' Dornier unit has tested its Hellas obstacle avoidance system
for helicopters in a night setting. The eyesafe laser-based system
was assessed during low-flight under visible flight regulations.
The test was conducted in conjunction with Eurocopter and the
German military's technical center to clear the way for installation
of the system on the EC 135 for the German border guard. The total
order is for 25 systems.
