  Russia and India Team on Future Defense Projects
Russia and India are set to increase their level of military co-operation with Russia launching a study for an integrated air defense system to cover all of India. Russia's Deputy Prime Minister, Ilya Klebanov, also announced that the two countries will co-develop the Ilyushin Il-214 military transport aircraft. India's External Affairs and Defence Minister, Jaswant Singh, confirmed that Russia had been contracted to supply more than $10 billion worth of defense equipment to India over the last four years, including Sukhoi Su-30 strike fighters and T-90 battle tanks. India and Russia are also understood to be close to agreeing a deal for the aircraft carrier Admiral Gorshkov.
