Global Solutions Pavilion Blasts Off to Fire
the Imagination
Pavilion 1 is no longer "just another exhibition site."
This year it's been transformed to become The Global Solutions
Pavilion-a venue for visitors to learn about new aerospace technologies.
AADI, a division of Hannover Fairs, Inc, has joined forces with
the organizers of the Paris Air Show, Salons Internationaux de
l'Aeronautique et de l'Espace (SIAE), to design and build a single
location for 60 international companies to present a complete
"learning experience" to show-goers.
The Global Solutions Pavilion houses a unique theater where a
range of specialist presentations and seminars will be held throughout
the week. Particular emphasis is being placed on four core areas
of interest: space & communications (sponsored by Space.com),
metals & materials (sponsored by McCook Metals), on-board
cabin comforts (sponsored by Intheairnet.com), and the business
of business aviation (sponsored by CDI Engineering Services).
Addressing the opening of the Pavilion were Joachim Schafer, President
of AADI/Global Marketing Solutions, and Jean-Luc Jolley, Director
General of SIAE. "This year's Paris show is the biggest ever
in the world, and the Global Solutions Pavilion is a whole new
event for us. It is a concept that goes beyond anything we have
done before and brings a whole new service to the show,"
said Jolley.
The Pavilion itself was launched in fine style by astronauts Bernard
Harris of NASA, and France's Jean-Loup Chrétien. Both have
worked with U.S., Russian and European space missions, and so
saw great appeal in the international scope of the Global Solutions
Pavilion. Harris drew particular attention to the Pavilion's aim
of enlightening its visitors. "The idea of having educational
programming in a venue like this is unique-to my knowledge we
are the only place hosting presentations like this at the show,"
he said. "If you want to be educated, if you want to know
what is happening in the world, you need to come here."
