Barnes Achieves Lean Milestones
Barnes Aerospace achieved several lean-manufacturing milestones
at its advanced fabrications division in Ogden, Utah, the company
announced. As a result of the initiative, which began two years
ago, the facility has achieved a 65% space reduction, a 24% productivity
increase, a 57% raw material use reduction, a 56% reduction in
inventory, a 61% reduction in lead time, and a 51% reduction in
cost of capital
