  Boeing Boosts Leasing
Boeing has placed a new emphasis on its leasing company customers following the inroads into that market by Airbus. The Leasing Companies group, set up 18 months ago, notes that leasing companies will take 25% of all Boeing's deliveries this year, up from 16% in 2000. The 76 new Boeings they took last year were delivered to operators in 31 different countries, while creating 18 new customers for Boeing by placing first-of-models at these airlines. "Leasing companies now account for half of all our new customer generation," business director Catherine Heide told Show News.
