  Snoopy to Be Put Down
One of the world's most distinctive aircraft, Snoopy, the famous converted C-130 Hercules used on behalf of the UK Met Office, will be replaced by a BAe146-300 under a partnership contract won by BAE Systems. The contract, which will provide, on demand, a fully instrumented aircraft for atmospheric research, is valued at $44 milion to $67 million depending on aircraft utilization. BAE's partner is UMIST- the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology
