China's Deer Jet Selects Agusta A109
Deer Jet, the helicopter branch of China's Hainan Airlines, has signed a contract to purchase two Agusta A109 Power helicopters and will use them to ferry harbor boat pilots to ships in Shanghai Harbor. Using helicopters to ferry ships' pilots to their vessels could save as much as 80 berthing days per year, according to a study commissioned by Agusta. More than 200 A109 Power helicopters have been ordered worldwide.
