AIA Forecasts $1.6 Billion Gain for U.S. Aerospace
in 2001
The Aerospace Industries Association of America says the U.S. aerospace
industry will grow by $1.6 billion in 2001 to post annual sales
of $145 billion. Sales to the U.S. Dept. of Defense will increase
by $2.2 billion to $48 billion, AIA predicts, with NASA and non-defense
federal spending dipping $1.5 billion to $11.4 billion. Sales to
customers other than the U.S. government will rise slightly to $62
billion. Some 3,827 aircraft will be delivered with a value of about
$41 billion.
