All Nippon 767s Light the Way with Guideline

Last year Lufthansa Technik AG sold an aggregate length of 20 kilometres of its Guideline aircraft floor path marking strip. Now Japan's All Nippon Airlines has selected Guideline for its fleet of 42 Boeing 767-300s, calling for a total length of 7.5 kilometres of Guideline strip for the one carrrier's aircraft alone.

Guideline is a photoluminescent system that is independent of any external power source, and provides cabin-path illumination during night flights or in emergency situations. Ordinary cabin lighting "charges" the Guideline strips, which can stay active for up to 13 hours, after just 30 minutes' exposure to external light.
