Arrius 2K1 for Agusta A109

Turbomeca's Arrius 2K1 engine is now FAA-certified for the Agusta A109 Power twin helicopter. The first aircraft is for CJ Systems Aviation Group for operation by Life Star in Erie, Pa., Turbomeca reports, with a second slated for delivery to Duke University in Durham, N.C. Both helicopters will be used for EMS missions. "We are delighted to be the first civil operator worldwide to operate the Arrius 2K1 in the A109 Power," said Life Star program director Cyndi Carter. A total of 1,100 engines from the Arrius family have been delivered.
