More Go for R-R Engine

A more powerful engine for the Citation X, already the world's fastest business jet, has been certified by the FAA.

The Rolls-Royce AE 3007C1 provides an additional five percent takeoff thrust (6,764 lbs vs 6,442 lbs per engine), which will significantly reduce the distance needed for takeoff as well as improve hot-and-high performance. It will also open up many smaller airports to the Citation X. The improved AE 3007C1 is part of a package of enhancements that Cessna is making standard on all Citation Xs delivered after January 1. Chief among them is a 400 lbs increase in maximum takeoff weight, which will allow takeoff with seven passengers and full fuel.
