AS907 Certification Testing Continues

Honeywell says its AS907 engine has successfully completed 40 flight tests required for FAA certification, including bird ingestion, icing, ice and hailstone and oil interruption. Company executive Mike Redenbaugh says the program has amassed more than 12,000 hours of total test time, including more than 10,500 cycles in extreme operating conditions. Eight test engines have already been shipped to Bombardier for use on the Continental jet, which began flight testing in August. AS907 certification is expected in Spring 2002.
