PW625F Engine's Trial Run

Pratt & Whitney Canada's PW625F engine demonstrator made its first run on October 31, and "demonstrated operating characteristics much better than anticipated," the company says, achieving full takeoff power of 2,500-pounds-thrust five hours into the trial. The new turbofan for the general aviation market will fly on the company's Boeing 720 testbed in the first quarter. The engines could be available in the third quarter of 2003. Booth 5932.
