Wood Group Expands PT6 Services

In an effort to expand its support base, Wood Group Turbopower has opened a new Pratt & Whitney PT6 regional turbine shop at Jack Garland Airport, in North Bay, Ontario. The repair center holds both Transport Canada and FAA repair station certification and is headed by John Hansford, former director of maintenance for Voyageur Airways.

In addition to Hansford, Wood group has hired two former Airwork employees: Michael Autrey who will serve as the company's PT6 field service manager; and Russ Morris as its mid-Atlantic sales manager.

Finally, Wood Group is rounding out its services with a new PT6-41/42 and -45 line maintenance and troubleshooting school at its Miami Lakes, Fla., facility.

The three-day, 16-hour course is FAA approved for IA credit and is geared toward experienced PT6 technicians. The cost is $750, including a continental breakfast and lunch. The first class begins January 29-31, 2001. For more information and course details visit Wood Group at Booth 5618
