Dassault Selects Goodrich SmartProbe for Falcon 7X

Dassault Aviation awarded Goodrich a $60 million contract to provide its SmartProbe air data and primary ice detection system for the Falcon 7X.

Jerry Witowski, president of Goodrich Sensor Systems, said the SmartProbe architecture offers several benefits over traditional systems, including integrated functionality, heater control technology for longer life extension and improved reliability.

In addition, Witowski said the SmartProbe's weight is reduced by 50 percent as compared to conventional systems and parasitic drag is reduced because there are fewer external sensors.
