AB139 Helo Said On Time

The AB139 helicopter program is on time and on budget, says Bell/Agusta Aerospace, the trans-Atlantic partnership that's developing the powerful new twin. The third aircraft made its first flight this past October. IFR certification under JAR/FAR part 29 regulations will take place in 2002. Like the BA609 tiltrotor, the AB139 will be built at factories in Italy and Texas, using the same parts suppliers. The AB139 will have engines from Pratt & Whitney Canada and Honeywell avionics.
