Lufthansa Technik Gets Multiflight BBJ2
The seventh BBJ2 off the Seattle
production line is bound for Multiflight in the UK, so far the
only named customer for the type. The Leeds/Bradford Airport-based
company was to take delivery soon after the postponed NBAA convention
back in September, but glitches with the Head Up Display software,
fuel tank bonding and wiring caused a two month delay. The aircraft
is now at Lufthansa Technik for its nine month interior completion.
According to Multiflight MD Steve Borrowdale, the company still
expects to take delivery of the completed aircraft by its original
target date of September 2002.
The 19-seat aircraft will carry the maximum of seven auxiliary
fuel tanks, giving it a non-stop range 5,400 nmi for Leeds-Los
Angeles or Leeds-Hong Kong.
