Messier-Dowty Lightens Up Its Falcon 7X Gear Design

Messier-Dowty has passed the launch design review for the landing gear systems contract for Dassault's Falcon 7X program, which it won earlier this year.

The review included a weight reduction in the landing gear. Tim Whitter, Messier-Dowty's marketing manager for business and regional aircraft, told Show News Messier-Dowty shaved an additional 4-6% weight off the systems, which were already "very weight conscious" at the start of the project. "We went in with an aggressive weight commitment when we were originally negotiating with Dassault," he said.

Aircraft Braking Systems of Akron, Ohio, will supply wheels, carbon brakes, nose wheel and brake control systems.
