MD Helicopters Find Corporate Demand
Corporate demand has taken MD Helicopters by surprise.
Even as it focused on reestablishing the NOTAR (No Tail Rotor)
520N and 600N singles and MD 602 Explorer twin in the law enforcement
and EMS markets, demand was building for plush executive versions.
"We were really caught a bit by surprise by this demand,"
CEO Henk Schaeken admitted to Show News. To date, five corporate
Explorers have been sold (one each in India, Switzerland and the
U.S., and two in Europe).
The UK's Eastern Atlantic Helicopters has sold more than 10 corporate
600Ns, and an executive 520N was delivered to a U.S. customer this
year.
