Heads Up and Satcom 'R' Us, Says Busy Midcoast Aviation

Midcoast Aviation has installed 18 SATCOMs in the past two years, a dramatic increase over the three installed in the entire seven years before.

This, Midcoast believes, makes it one of the leading shops for avionics--a little-realized asset that complements its activities in aircraft maintenance, modification and completions.

Midcoast says that in addition to installing more SATCOMS than any of its competitors, it has also installed the new Collins Heads Up Guidance System in two Challenger 604s and completed the first-ever dual Aero H+ SATCOM installation in a pair of business jets.

Midcoast also is developing an RVSM solution for the Hawker 700 and expects group approval in the first quarter of 2002, just as the new European airspace mandates are enforced.

"With the phenomenal growth in communications technology, business aircraft owners are realizing that their airplanes have become a lot more than a convenient and fast way to get from one place to another," said Wayne Hundsdorfer, director of corporate aviation sales for Midcoast.

"And the leading service provider tells us we install more of the units than any of our competitors," he said.
