STCs Could Save Big Money
Flight International has introduced two new options
to help package a "senior" Learjet 20 or 30 for sale.
The company's Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) addresses
the expensive problem areas of flight controls and main landing
gear on aircraft approaching 20,000 hours and/or 12,000 landings.
For flight controls, application of the company's STC entails
a complete inspection using non-destructive inspection techniques,
replacement of selected bolts and fittings, and complete instructions
for continued airworthiness. Current price is less than one-third
of replacement cost.
