Pilatus Tops 1,500 Turbo Sales Thanks To
Relentless Marketing
Pilatus Aircraft is celebrating the production of its 1,500th
single-engine turboprop aircraft with a special "Relentlessly
Swiss" paint scheme on this PC-12, which it will use as a
demonstrator until the end of the year.
The Stans, Switzerland-based manufacturer coined the name in reference
to the Swiss reputation for precision and quality. The aircraft's
striking red, white, and black design incorporates the Swiss flag
into the words 'heritage' 'commitment' and 'expertise'--concepts
that have served as a basis for much of the company's success.
" 'Relentlessly Swiss' is more than just a name," said
Angelo Fiataruolo, CEO of Pilatus Business Aircraft. "It's
the hilosophy behind everything we do, from research and development
to customer support--and that's enabled us to sell more single-engine
turboprops than any other manufacturer in the world."
Pilatus' history of single-engine turboprop design and construction
dates back to the first flight of the PC-6 Porter in 1959. Since
then, Pilatus has delivered 469 PC-6 Turbo Porter STOL utility
aircraft, some 452 PC-7 TurboTrainers, 73 PC-7 Mk II Turbo Trainers,
a total of 245 PC-9 Advanced Turbo Trainers, and 261 PC-12 business
turboprops.
More than 300 PC-12s have now been sold worldwide.
