In an effort to enhance its online services, Dallas-based Aviall has modernized its www.aviall.com website to aid customers with self-service and product searches. The site uses an Oracle-based software with interface adapters allowing users to incorporate company ERP systems, or download data from any tabular delimited software such as Lotus, MS Access, MS Excel or a MS Word table. The so-called "Multi Order" function of the site replaces hours of manual typing and faxing of data with a quick copy and paste function. Once the data is dropped, the system searches for requested parts and furnished prices of selected items. Additional functions include back order reports, forward orders, shipment tracking and invoicing.
