Lancair Offers Kompress Kits

Lancair offers Italy's Heli-Sport CH-7 in kit form for $59K -- Rotax engine is extra.

Lance Neibauer, president of Oregon kit airplane specialist Lancair, has taken an interest in helicopters, so Lancair is now offering rotary wing aircraft in kit form too-the Redmond firm has become exclusive distributor of the CH-7 Kompress from Italy's Heli-Sport.

"Lance and Don Goetz, our company test pilot, checked out all the kit helicopters currently being built, and mutually decided the CH-7 was the best," says Lancair's Grant Bailey. "We took delivery of two helicopters, completed both, started flying them, and were very pleased with their performance, so Lance entered into negotiations with Heli-Sport, and our exclusive dealership is the result."

The two-place Kompress airframe is priced at $59,000, with engine, paint and battery extra. Lancair is offering the Rotax 914 turbo engine for the CH-7.
